Los Angeles is a rich mixture of many cultural influences, which is reflected in street art, signage and murals throughout the city. The artists at El Sapo Studio and friends are also busy creating their own pieces for gallery shows, personal collections, community beautification and non-profit organizations

   Owner Carlos Aguilar began his career in art and lettering at the age of 13. Inspired daily by the art in Los Angeles, he began to recognize the beauty and unique style in signs and murals all over the city, and began to practice his craft in earnest. With over ten years in experience as owner of Sign Graf Custom Signs, Carlos has now opened El Sapo Studio, a collective of experienced sign artists who work to create the best custom sign work available. We specialize in custom type, hand lettering and graphics, modern and traditional designs. It's important for us to provide a personal, customized approach to each project, with the utmost respect for each customer's needs and budget.
We love creating signs! We are passionate about lettering and preserving the beauty of traditional sign making. Along with preserving the craft of sign making, we also provide the community with free mural projects and donating art to organizations focused on supporting cultural pride and city beautification.
